A Beautiful Message

The email was unfamiliar, so I sent a message asking the subscriber to my blog who they were. Here is the reply (used with permission).

Good evening Mrs. Groot,

My name is Daniel.

Long ago,

before podcasts and the internet,

before tattoos, 

before my three children were born, 

before meeting my wife in Vancouver,

before living abroad, 

before becoming a loud musician, 

before skateboarding, 

before stitches and surfing, 

before reading LotR, 

before my first heartbreak,

I was a yellow haired boy,

who loved Jesus,

loved his parents 

and also loved school,

because you were my teacher.
