Grace

O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee:
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here's my heart, O take and seal it;
Seal it for Thy courts above.
Robert Robinson (1735-1790)

So…when your son invites you over for a delicious Canadian Thanksgiving dinner it includes so many things besides the dinner—a fog, laser light show—Dana, his beautiful girlfriend, dancing in the strobe light—Medieval armor painting—and you get to watch a bazillion super cool videos he made. The photos of Dana dancing in the strobe light inspired this blog.

Somehow the laser lights remind me of being surrounded by the love of God. I am so thankful God loves us. We don't deserve it, yet He pours His love and mercy on us. He daily loads us with blessings. We are surrounded by His kindness—the air we breathe, the food we eat, the relationships we enjoy, the homes we live in, the health we have, the beauty of creation—all beautiful gifts from His hands.

I am reminded that when you have found God you have found everything! You have found abundant life, peace, joy, kindness, goodness, compassion, and gentleness. He is all of that. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, everywhere present. You are safe in His hands.

Thankfully, His love doesn't depend on our worthiness. When we ask Jesus to forgive our sins—which only He can do because the wages of sin is death and He paid the penalty for us when He died in our place — He becomes our Savior.

We are made pure and clean. We become the righteousness of God in Christ. We are promised eternal life in a place so incredibly beautiful we can't even imagine it. We get to live with God—the fullness of love—forever. Isn't that amazing?
"As for God, His way is perfect; the Word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him. For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; He enables me to stand on the heights." Psalm 18:30-33 You are greatly loved by God—the Creator of Heaven and Earth. His love, mercy, and grace are free gifts—yours if you want them. Blessings, Beloved.
