The God of the Universe invites us into His forever family and allows us to call Him Abba (Daddy in Aramaic). So amazing. We do not deserve this love -- there is nothing we can do to earn Heaven. If we accept Abba's free offer of forgiveness of sin and eternal life we are adopted into His royal family. So incredible.
I first heard the word Abba in Israel. A small child misplaced their father on a cobblestone street in Jerusalem. The child cried longingly for his Abba. It touched my heart. That's how I believe God wants us to cry for Him -- with intense longing. "And I will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." (2 Corinthians 6:18)
I have not seen my Earthly father since I was five and lived briefly with my mother. Because of that, this Scripture is precious to me. "When my mother and father forsake me, then the LORD will take me up." (Psalm 27:10) God is my Abba. He has always been there for me. He held me in my darkest moments. I love Him now and forever.
Abba promises to never leave or forsake those who love Him. He said He is with us always, even to the end of the world. (Matthew 28:20) We can trust His Word. He only speaks truth. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6)
“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day." (John 6:44) Abba, precious Father, please draw people to You. Please speak to people's hearts and reveal the truth of who You are so they can be born into Your Kingdom of love.
Jesus said, "In My Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." (John 14:2) One day, when all is ready, Jesus will come for His bride."But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father." (Mark 13:32) (Photo of my daughter Savannah)
Only our Father, our Abba, knows the details of when we get to go HOME to be with our forever family -- to be with millions who loved and obeyed Him throughout history. This is sobering. "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 7:21)
Happy Father's Day, dear Abba! May Your Name be loved, honored and glorified throughout the Earth. May Your eternal Kingdom come and Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. May Your heart rejoice in the praises of Your people.
"Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear." (John 13:43) I pray You will one day shine forth as the sun in the Kingdom of Heaven. "Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 1:3) Blessings, Beloved.
