He Did It For You

Imagine a day when your time in this life is no more, and you are standing before the Judge in the highest court of the Universe. The stakes are high. The ruling will determine where you will spend eternity. The records of your life are being reviewed. Nothing will be hidden on that day."And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and the books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books." (Revelation 20:12)

All your words, thoughts, motives, and actions will be revealed. Any lies, thefts, blasphemies, lust, dishonoring of God or your parents, any sins, will be exposed. You have broken eternal laws and are without excuse. You hear a voice say, "The wages of sin is death..." You realize with horror you will be separated from all that is pure, beautiful, holy...from God who is love incarnate...forever. By your own choice, you will be banished to a horrific place of darkness, absent of all the beauty that God is, with no hope of ever leaving. The verdict will never be able to be overturned. There is no higher court in all the universe to appeal to.

But wait. I have good news for you. Let's change the scene. Let's say you accepted Jesus' free gift of salvation while you were alive. That horrific scene where all your sins are displayed won't happen. All your guilty stains will have been washed away. Another book is opened. It's called the Book of Life. The courtroom is quiet.

The Judge looks at you with eyes filled with love as He rises. Your name has been found in the book. He holds out his nail-scarred hands as proof that your guilty verdict has been pardoned. He has paid the death penalty for you. You are invited to walk through a portal filled with brilliant light. It leads to the most stunningly beautiful place you have ever seen. You realize with joy you are finally, forever home. As you are lovingly greeted by the hosts of Heaven you hear over and over..."He did it for you". "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

The wages of sin is death. Jesus paid those wages on our behalf. What a gift we have been offered! Heaven! We have been invited to be part of God's forever family! One day you will leave this life and enter eternity. One day, any moment now, you will stand before the judge of Heaven and Earth. Where will the Judge decide you will be? You must decide now. Please don't miss Heaven.

I hope before that day you ask Jesus to forgive your sins and accept His offer of eternal life. You will never regret that decision. “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”(John 3:16) The King of the Universe wants to welcome you home on that day. He loves you more than you can imagine. Remember, He did it for you. Blessings, Beloved of God.
