Who may abide in your tabernacle?
Who may live on your holy mountain?
He who walks uprightly
And works righteousness
And speaks the truth in his heart.
Psalm 15:1, 2
What is God saying to you from this passage? Listen. His Word speaks. I am hearing there is no way I can entertain sin and be in right standing with God. He requires holiness. Purity. Some think we can live for the devil and we will be fine if we have ever asked Jesus to be our Lord. They are under the impression we will be welcomed into Heaven. Somehow, that doesn't sound plausible.
How can we have clean hands and a pure heart? How can we be as innocent as children? We can't by ourselves. Unless we abide in Him and He in us we can do nothing...nothing of any eternal value. We can never be perfect. We will never walk uprightly, never work righteousness, and never speak the truth in our hearts without God’s enabling and the empowering of His Holy Spirit.
There's nothing we can do but accept the forgiveness freely offered in Christ and ask Him to create clean hearts in us. He wants us to become as innocent and trusting as little children."And He said, "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven". (Matthew 18:3)
True confessions. My daughter was visiting and left an ugly scarf at the house. It had nasty looking skulls on it. I thought it was so repulsive I threw it out. When asked if I knew where the scarf was I said no... I reasoned technically I had no idea where it was that moment. Did you know liars will be in the lake of fire? I confessed. None of us has arrived. We all need the grace and forgiveness of God. I pray we will speak the truth. Blessings, Beloved.
