The Gate of Heavenly Peace

Updated: Jul 18

Once upon a time, in the 15th century, the Gate of Heavenly Peace hung on the wall that surrounded the Imperial Palace of China. It had five doors and could only be reached by a series of seven bridges. Only the Emperor could use the middle door and the middle bridge. That is the gate Chairman Mao stood at when he proclaimed the birth of The People's Republic of China. You may walk through the gate for free, but if you climb it you will have to pay an admission fee. Odd.

There is a gate you want to freely enter at all costs. It is the gate to eternal life. You can only enter as a member of the family of God. Jesus said, "I am the door (the gate); whoever enters through me will go in and out and find pasture (be saved)."(John 10:19) Don't put off a decision to follow Christ. One day the gate will be closed forever.

Did you know there are gates that lead to Hell? Jesus said in Matthew 16:18, "Thou art Peter, and upon this rock (the truth that He had just revealed that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God) I will build my church: and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. " That is one gate you never want to walk through. Once those gates close there is no hope of escape

I pray God will "Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips." (Psalm 141:3) I pray that our words bring life. I have high hopes for you. I hope you will choose the narrow road that leads to life. I hope the love of God will fill your heart. I hope you will rest in His love and His peace will fill your heart and mind. May God bless you and keep you in His care now and forever. Blessings, Beloved.

About Me

Rena was born a block away from a fascinating tide pool in Vancouver, British Columbia. She has taught Kindergarten to Grade 12 in a Public school, Christian schools, homeschool, and in an International school in China. She has four beautiful children...a baby in Heaven...a very cool husband...published three books (A Life Set Free, Mommy & Baby's Journal, and Bubs Bunny Goes to Camp) and painted a few paintings. God has given her incredible opportunities to be involved with short term missions around the globe as an Ambassador with the Department of Eternal Affairs. Her personal story is one of healing from brokenness. God took an abandoned, fearful child and is using her life to show that nothing is impossible when our lives are surrendered to God.  Her greatest joy is to bring joy to God's heart. She  sincerely hopes this blog is a blessing to you.
